Hello, my name is Shirley, and I have been in the pet industry for over 15 years.

        I began grooming while caring for my miniature poodle, Mottas. I found the traditional grooming experience inconvenient, often requiring several hours of waiting. Over time, I started grooming dogs for family members and friends, which led me to discover a genuine passion for the craft.

I was originally the co-owner of Vanity Pups New York with my former husband. We later decided to expand independently, with him continuing operations in New York while I established a location in Florida. In 2012, I opened Vanity Pups in Fleming Island.

        I have always enjoyed both grooming and working with puppies. However, in June 2021, following the impact of COVID-19, breeder prices increased significantly, making it more challenging to offer puppies at accessible price points. As a result, I transitioned to primarily offering special-order puppies and shifted my grooming services to a mobile model. This approach allows me to continue doing what I love while reducing overhead and ensuring a better experience for both pets and their owners.

 

Today, I operate my mobile grooming business with the support of my three children, who are actively involved in helping me. I am also accompanied by my dogs, who happily serve as my co-pilots throughout the day.
